Chevrolet Blazer EV Review
Today, I’ve got an award-winning family car on deck! The new 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV won the Motor Trend SUV of the Year and I’ve seen a lot of praise surrounding this vehicle. While it may look great on paper, the question (as always) stands: is it family-friendly?

2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV Overview
Chevy is going through a bit of a resurgence. The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV, is not just an electric version of the standard Blazer. It's a completely different vehicle in terms of both exterior and interior design. Chevy is letting me walk through their RS trim, which brings a sporty feel to the EV market.
Unlike some EVs that emphasize eco-friendly materials and design, the Blazer EV RS feels like a traditional sporty Chevy, so even with an EV, you get a similar vibe to the modern Chevrolet out now. One one charge, you can get around 279 miles of range and we have a lot of features aimed at making charging and driving easier.
2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV Exterior
The Blazer EV RS has a completely different look that sets it apart from the regular Blazer. The exterior design has a lot of sporty elements, with the triangular grill and carbon fiber trim. I really like the overall shape of this vehicle, but the interior is really where you see more of the EV Blazer shine.
2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV First Row
Inside the Blazer EV RS, the first row feels like the Blazer we know and love. The interior is really nice with bright red leather and carbon fiber trim. Other than that, it doesn’t have any of the typical EV interior like bamboo or open air concepts. The center console has a ton of storage space, two USB-C ports, and a wireless charging pad. Overall, I like the first row a lot as a driver, it’s smooth and easy to navigate, but I just don’t feel like I’m in an electric vehicle (in a good way).
Infotainment System
Chevy's new infotainment system in the Blazer EV is a significant upgrade from the one we are used to seeing. It has a large, curved digital display and Heads-Up Display to look at while driving. I’ve seen a lot of infotainment systems and this might be my favorite. It’s absolutely gorgeous.
Something I wanted to note is it also includes a teen driver mode that allows parents to set speed limits, audio volume limits, and receive a report card on their teen's driving habits, enhancing safety and parental control. Features like this are really easy and cool ways to keep your younger drivers safe.
2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV Second Row
I am pleasantly surprised to see how great the bench in this car is. Per usual, I used theGraco SlimFit 3LX to test out three across and it worked really easily with room to spare. I don’t think non-slim car seats would work, but a lot of the car seats from my Slimmest Car Seats blog will work without a problem.
As for passenger comfort, the seats are really wide (even the middle) so there is a lot of room. There are vents on the back of the console, two USB-C ports, and heated seats - all things I give my stamp of approval to.
Car Seat Setup
Installing car seats in the Blazer EV is simple with lower anchors on the outboard seats and three tether anchors across the back. The bench seat is wide enough to fit three slim car seats, and the middle seat bolsters do not interfere with installation. The buckles are flexible and easy to access, ensuring that securing the car seats is hassle-free.
2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV Trunk
The trunk of the Blazer EV is impressively large. It has a nice and deep storage area that can easily accommodate a full-size stroller, like the Mockingbird 2.0, with additional room for other items. This makes a five passenger SUV a really practical choice for families who need to carry a lot of gear.
2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV Wrap Up
As a whole, I am really impressed with the electric Chevy Blazer. It has a gorgeous infotainment system and drives incredibly well. Personally, I love when electric vehicles don’t feel too futuristic, and I think Chevy has made a great middle-ground with luxury and functionality. For a family with two or three kids, I highly recommend a test drive.
