The Car Mom is dedicated to empowering moms and families to make the most informed and confident decision when car shopping. We want to create a positive car buying experience for both the female consumer and the dealership by dismantling outdated stereotypes between the two and changing the narrative of a traditionally male dominated industry.

Our Story

Kelly Stumpe is The Car Mom. As a mom and lover of all things automotive (she grew up in and around car dealerships!), Kelly recognized a need within the industry and jumped at the opportunity to offer her expertise. Founded in 2020, The Car Mom began simply as a way to review family cars from a mom's perspective. In the three years since, the mission has quickly grown to empower families of all sizes throughout the car selection and buying process.

With a down-to-earth, family focused, and accessible approach to car tours, Kelly has fostered a loyal community of over half a million followers. In addition to being The Car Mom, Kelly is also the co-host of the podcast The Carpool, a Child Passenger Safety Technician and most importantly, a mom to three - George, Hattie, and Fred.

Meet Our Team

Kelly is a mom of three (& pregnant with her fourth!), car salesperson, Child Safety Passenger Technician (CPST) and of course, The Car Mom.

With over 1 million views since the launch of her YouTube channel in November 2020, Kelly’s informative and fun reviews have captured the attention of women across the country looking to upgrade their vehicle needs. Her reviews focus on what mothers really care about - everything from the car seat set up to the cup holders. All of her unique content is shared weekly across multiple media channels. Kelly graduated from William Woods University with a degree in Communications & Equestrian Studies.

Kelly hosts The Carpool Podcast with her sister, Lizz, every Tuesday & Thursday available wherever podcasts can be found.

Elizabeth is Kelly’s younger sister, business partner, and co-host of The Carpool Podcast. Prior to working full time on The Car Mom, Elizabeth worked in automotive digital marketing. She oversees day to day operations of The Car Mom as well as edits and produces YouTube videos. Elizabeth has a degree in Television Arts and minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation from Bradley University. (happy to see the latter is paying off).

Elizabeth (we also call her Lizz!) welcomed her baby boy James in 2023.
