Buick has redesigned their 2024 Encore model in an effort to become a much larger competitor against the popular midsize cars on the market. 2024 Buick Encore GX Avenir Exterior
The front end of this car looks fresh. It has a very similar vibe to what an electric vehicle looks like (although it’s not), but the overall redesign is really modern. I’m happy to see that Buick is making changes to the Encore because if a vehicle’s exterior is not redone, it has a tendency to look dated just a few years after purchasing. Although the more futuristic look is not for everyone, I really think this is the exterior design we will continue to see more and more.
A really fun detail on the new 2024 Buick Encore GX Avenir is their logo. Although it’s similar to the original, the updated version has a much cleaner and simpler look. The red, white, and blue colors are so darling so I’m glad they kept it in the logo.
The Avenir trim, which is the top-line version of the Encore, starts at around $28,000 MSRP. For a mid tier SUV vehicle, this is not a bad price at all in my opinion. The shape of the GX is a cross between a wagon and an SUV and has a really distinct curve coming towards the back. It’s a little more spacious than a small SUV, which allows for a wider second trunk and trunk.
2024 Buick Encore GX Avenir First Row Details
The first row of the 2024 Buick Encore GX Avenir is very functional, but does not include a lot of bells and whistles. The biggest note I had in the first row is the lack of storage (although I give it to them because this is a smaller vehicle), but there is a lot of great tech for daily trips that make up for it.
The feature I was really impressed by is a rear-view camera. I love rear-view cameras, especially when having second row passengers, but this feature is not super common on an SUV this small. Although small, this is a huge perk to have in a family vehicle.
Infotainment System
The infotainment system comes with all the things that are now expected in current vehicles. Apple Carplay, Android Auto, USB and USB-C ports, and it’s super easy to navigate.
As many of you love, I love when the climate controls are pulled out of the infotainment system and the 2024 Buick Encore includes this. For ease when driving and adjusting, this is a huge plus.
2024 Buick Encore GX Avenir Second Row Details
Having the driver’s seat set up for my height (6 feet) the second row still had a lot of room for comfortability. I am most impressed with the headroom available for the size of this vehicle and I would say the legroom is just fine.
The bench seating in the second row was a really big plus for anyone needing to consider car seat functionality. The middle seat is really wide ( I’ve seen a lot that are significantly smaller) meaning there is a lot of potential for your car seat combination to work having three across.
As for the setup itself, the Buick Encore comes with the standard two sets of lower anchors and three sets of tether anchors. I wanted to note the buckles are just flexible enough in the second row to fit those precious few inches needed for three across as well.
2024 Buick Encore GX Avenir Trunk Details
The trunk’s exterior is not my favorite. Having three different fonts displaying the car’s make and model looks too busy on an SUV as small as this. As dramatic as it is, it bugged me enough that I had to discuss it.
For the functionality of the trunk, it’s got a ton of space available. The privacy cover can be removable, although I love it in all vehicles, making even more room for hauling. Although I didn’t have a stroller with me, I am confident one would fit with ease.
2024 Buick Encore GX Avenir Wrap Up
The 2024 Buick Encore GX Avenir is a really fresh, interesting vehicle to add to the mid tier luxury market. Although it is a bit smaller and comes with just the most basic features, the price and space available makes it an excellent option to consider for your next family vehicle.
