2022 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle Hybrid Review
We’ve got a hauler on deck today! As many of you know, my love for minivans runs deep. I mean who doesn’t love the sliding doors? Today, we are going to be putting another minivan to the test and walking through the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica.
If you’re new here - welcome! I’m Kelly the Car Mom and it’s my mission to help you find the best SUV for your family. By the end of this post, you’ll understand all the features of the Chrysler Pacifica and if it’s right for your family.

2022 Chrysler Pacifica Exterior
I’ll say it, the Chrysler Pacifica (and just minivans in general) are not known to be the most sleek looking. So for that, we will give this 2022 model a bit of a pass. I do want to talk about some of the safety features present in this vehicle. This includes blind spot monitoring, backup camera, automated cruise control, and automatic braking. Regardless of the trim level, you’re getting a great car with crash prevention features that save lives. Good job Chrysler for not gatekeeping it behind a higher trim level.
I walked through the highest trim level today and I will say, it’s still not the most attractive out of the 4 minivans available. I’m personally a fan of the Kia Carnival aesthetically, but the size of this vehicle is quite large.
2022 Chrysler Pacifica First Row Details
The door panel is a lot to take in. It has a bright orange interior and the most outdated wood accents - it looks like my grandpa’s boat. The rest of it is fairly simple, all the things you expect in a driver’s seat panel. The rest of the first row is excellent, but my one complaint is the center console is small.
Infotainment System
The infotainment system is really user-friendly. I’ve tried almost all the infotainment systems on the market and have yet to encounter a single problem with this one. It’s got all the necessities (Apple Carplay, Android Auto, etc…) plus there’s even a Fam Cam! You can click on each seat to see in even more detail.
My biggest pet peeve in an infotainment system is burying the climate controls in the screen. I love that this is simple and easy to use when driving.
2022 Chrysler Pacifica Second Row Details
Features in the second row include:
Excellent screens. They have FireTV!
Pillows in the second row. Interesting.
Ceiling vents
Climate control on ceiling
Move first row seats with button in back
With the captain’s chairs, the Chrysler Pacifica has 4 sets of lower anchors and 4 tether anchors. The spacing for car seats is excellent in the second row. Since I didn’t have a bench seat to test I cannot 100% confirm it fits three car seats across, but I have yet to met a minivan where this is not possible.
2022 Chrysler Pacifica Third Row Details
To get into the third row, it’s a bit clunky. There’s no magic slide or anything like that, but requires you to pull a level and then slide it forward. If I’m being honest, I want the Stow and Go over anything and would pay for it in the Pacifica.
Let’s talk about headrests. The Chrysler Pacifica makes some of the most controversial headrests on the market because they cannot be taken out and tilt forward. This means some of your forward-facing car seats will not be installed safely. My suggestion is to bring your car seat to the dealership and test it out in not just the third row, but second row as well.
The rest of the car seat set up back here is abysmal. It has a 60/40 bench, so there are not enough lower and tether anchors for seat compatibility. To see what I mean, look at the LATCH graphic below.

2022 Chrysler Pacifica Trunk Details
With the third row up, you can easily fit a single stroller back here with room for groceries. I love how deep minivan trunks are and I don’t understand why more SUVs don’t have deeper trunks as well. With Stow and Go, there is so much more seating available and turns this minivan into a truck bed.
2022 Chrysler Pacifica Wrap Up
No matter what minivan you consider, it’s a good option for your family. While the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica is not the most aesthetically pleasing on the exterior, the captain’s chairs and second row offer great car seat installation. That being said, I am not happy with the third row seating setup and think there is a lot of room for improvement.
