Some high-back booster seats allow tether use for added stability and reduced movement during crashes. However, this depends on the specific booster model and vehicle compatibility.
Booster seats typically rely on the vehicle’s seat belt for installation, but using a tether can provide extra security in certain cases. Always consult your booster seat manual to see if tethering is recommended or required.
LATCH vs. Tether Anchors: What’s The Difference?
It’s easy to confuse lower anchors (the “LA” in LATCH) with tether anchors since they’re both part of the LATCH system, but they serve different purposes:
Lower Anchors: These secure the base of the car seat to your vehicle using connectors on either side of the seat crease. They’re used for both rear-facing and forward-facing installations.

Attach Tether Strap: Hook the tether strap from your child’s car seat onto its designated anchor point in your vehicle.
Tighten It: Pull on the strap until it’s snug and free from slack, but don’t overtighten it as this could damage components over time.
