Vehicles with Ceiling Vents - The Key To Staying Cool and Comfortable
Today, we're talking about something that might not be at the top of your car-buying checklist but absolutely should be a consideration—especially if you're a parent in a warm climate like Missouri, where it's a scorching 101 degrees today! I'm talking about ceiling vents in family cars.
Ceiling vents are a great feature because they give better airflow to children in carseats (especially rear facing!). Although I don’t think it’s a total deal breaker, I do think it’s an important feature to consider. Below is my master list of 7 passenger vehicles with ceiling vents based off the 20201 models!
Here are some other blogs that show my favorite features:
Let’s Talk About Ceiling Vents.
So, why should you care about ceiling vents? If you have rear-facing kids, this should definitely be on your list of priorities. My two little ones are still in rear-facing car seats, and let me tell you, it can get really warm back there. Yes, you have the air conditioning on, but sometimes that front vent just doesn't cut it for the entire car. This is where ceiling vents come in. They offer direct airflow to the back, making the temperature more comfortable for your kids.
When kids are uncomfortable, they get cranky; when they get cranky, the drive becomes unpleasant for everyone. Just like we prioritize safety features and fuel efficiency, we need to think about the practicalities of day-to-day life with kids in the car.
Kids in Rear-Facing Car Seats Just Don’t Get The Same Airflow
The design of most cars favors front-seat passengers when it comes to airflow, making it difficult for the air to effectively reach those in rear-facing car seats. Even with the best of intentions, the air conditioning may not adequately circulate to the back, leaving your youngest family members sweltering. But, guess what? Ceiling vents can resolve this problem.
Once your children transition to forward-facing seats, ceiling vents become less critical since the kids will have more direct access to the front air vents. But until that time comes, ceiling vents can make a world of difference for your rear-facing kids.
