2024 Electric Nissan Leaf
We’ve got an electric vehicle on deck today! The Nissan Leaf came out almost a decade ago as an affordable electric vehicle and let me say Nissan sticks with their promises and is keeping this vehicle affordable in 2024. Although I’m really excited to show you all the features of this latest refresh, the question still remains: is this vehicle family-friendly?

2024 Nissan Leaf Exterior Details
Let’s be honest, electric vehicles used to be a really large eyesore. Nissan has created, in my opinion, a pretty stylish hatchback sedan kind of vibe with their 2024 Nissan Leaf and I actually am very impressed with the upgraded exterior design and technology inside.
Although she's not winning any performance or range awards in the EV market, I do think this is a really good option for families looking for an affordable EV. This thing starts at around $28,000 and as far as charging capabilities are concerned, you can get about an 80% charge in 60 minutes. I wouldn't put her in the same category as trying to be the road trip queen, I don't think you should take it road tripping, but again as a secondary car, teen car, or just someone bopping around town this thing checks a lot of nice boxes.
The front is a big indication of the nice upgrades we see on the Leaf. It gives a little bit more sleek design and a little bit more sedan as well. I think it fits much better with the rest of the Nissan lineup. Looking at the side profile, the tires, two-toned colors, and black accents make a really fun looking vehicle. Overall, I’d say the trim makes this a seriously stylish car.
2024 Nissan Leaf First Row Details
I really like the Leaf’s interior. It feels really good and updated, we even have a little bit of blue contrast stitching throughout. A good and bad problem to have is how silent the vehicle is, but sometimes it’s so quiet I feel like artificial sound is needed to alert people nearby. We’ve got a heated steering wheel, which feels really good, and steering assistance along with good comfort features. Overall, it’s a really great first row for the price. It under promises and over delivers.
Infotainment System
For the $28,000 there is a really nice infotainment system and safety features included. We're going to have frontal collision warning and blind spot monitoring that feels really good. As for the infotainment system itself, we have an 8 inch display and it's actually loaded with some pretty good features. We have wireless Apple Carplay and Android auto which is awesome. It's the typical Nissan display. I still wish they would ditch the orange I talk about every time, but for the most part it's touchscreen it's responsive and I like the buttons being pulled out.
2024 Nissan Leaf Second Row Details
Overall, I’m comfortable in the second rock. It’s a little clunky, which I can imagine that’s because of the battery in the vehicle, so the middle seat is awkward. Headroom isn’t the best, I would love a little bit more, but knee clearance feels good.
I don’t talk about this a lot, but the visibility in the second row is nice. There are nice big windows, which feels good especially for teen drivers. We’ve got two USBs, but no ventilation back here. For car seat install, and overall comfort purposes, I wish they were back here. It’s hard to knock it when no one's doing it, so for the most part it's pretty comfortable.
As far as your car seat setup is concerned, you've got lower anchors on the outboard seats and tether anchors across the back. With the 2024 Nissan Leaf being an hatchback-esque type of car, we actually have some pretty decent car seat clearance. I did choose a car seat that's very compact, so the Graco SlimFit 3LX is my go to choice and fits well. I don't think this is a three across machine and I'm not going to attempt it mainly because that middle seat is too narrow and the buckles are rigid. Overall, it would be a decent second row for smaller families.
2024 Nissan Leaf Trunk Details
The trunk on the Leaf is good for its size. There is a lot of room, but a lot of depth as well which is really great for hauling purposes. Although I didn’t try out a stroller, a single would fit nicely. I’m quite impressed for the size you get on this smaller vehicle.
2024 Nissan Leaf Wrap Up
Overall, I actually really enjoy the 2024 Nissan Lead. I think it's doing what it's supposed to be, it's big enough for car seats and would make a great teen car. If you're interested in an EV the Nissan Leaf has been around for a long time, think it had like an 80 mile range back in 2013, so it’s a reliable choice.
