2023 Nissan Rogue SV
I’ve got a staple to the 5 passenger vehicle category on deck today! The 2023 Nissan Rogue SV is the latest and greatest version of the complete Rogue redesign we saw a few years ago. While I am always a fan of what Nissan does to their new vehicles, the question still stands: does it remain family friendly?
By the end of this post, you’ll understand all the features on the interior and exterior of the 2023 Nissan Rogue SV to see how it ranks with other 5 passenger SUVs on the market.

2023 Nissan Rogue Cost
The 2023 Nissan Rogue starts at just under $30,000, but the Rogue trim levels vary widely in price and go up quite high. The maxed out platinum is in the high 30s, which in my opinion is a lot for this vehicle.
The car I am walking you through today is the SV trim level with the midnight exterior package, coming in around $36,000. This is the most I would spend for this vehicle, I really enjoyed all the features that came with it, and suggest adding packages instead of upgrading trim level.
2023 Nissan Rogue Driving Experience
Although I rarely mention the driving experience I have in vehicles (I want you to test it and see for yourself), it seemed important to mention the Nissan Rogue. They redid their engine to now be a 1.5 liter and include a CVT transmission. This means it shifts differently than a normal vehicle in an effort to increase fuel economy.
Nissan says you get about 36 mpg on their Rogue, I got about 31, and I want to note I feel like this car lacks a little bit of performance or zip. If you’re looking at this vehicle, make sure you actually test drive this vehicle on the freeway and merging.
2023 Nissan Rogue Exterior
Nissan always kills the design of their exterior. Although the 2023 exterior is very similar to what we received in 2021, they released a Midnight edition that looks super fresh. The black elements on the front, such as the grill and outlined headlights, add a really modern touch.
The lines on the Rogue make a really cool and seamless shape. It reminds me a little bit of a mini Pathfinder in overall look, which I absolutely love. I see more and more SUVs doing it these days, but the end of the vehicle squares off into the trunk. This really helps create a sleek vibe to a smaller vehicle.
2023 Nissan Rogue First Row Details
The interior of the new Rogue is quite fresh. It’s not often I see a chocolate and black interior combination, but I loved how it looked in the first row. A little bit of contrast stitching is present as well, but overall the interior is quite simple. One thing I will mention, I love how soft Nissan’s leather is! While sometimes I worry it could be too soft, it’s ridiculously comfortable.
Center console is tiny, but the under console bridge is included for any extra storage. Personally, I love the bridge feature and find it super useful.
Infotainment System
The technology inside this vehicle is just okay. They have done a great job at making the 2023 infotainment system more user-friendly and responsive, but it’s all the same colors and fonts as the 2014 Nissan versions.
You are getting both Apple Carplay and Android Auto standard on all Rogue models, which is a really nice addition. USB and USB-C ports are included, as well as the opportunity for wireless charging if you upgrade.
2023 Nissan Rogue Second Row Details
The second row of this car is comfortable. Even though it's a 5 passenger, technically sub-compact vehicle, the space is really nice. Another plus, you can upgrade for sun shades! I rarely see this in cars of this size, but it’s a really exciting addition that I think is worth getting.
The car seat setup is quite interesting. This Nissan Rogue has five lower anchors and you're probably thinking “Don't you need two lower anchors per car seat?”. The answer is yes, but in the Nissan Rogue they put an extra lower anchor in the middle seat.
The only time you would ever really use that is if you wanted to install a car seat in the middle with the lower anchors. It works for some car seat combinations, but not for all. Personally, I could not ever see myself using it. To help figure out which car seats are best for three across, check out my post here!
Overall, I do not think the 2023 Nissan Rogue could fit three car seats across.
2023 Nissan Rogue Trunk Details
The trunk space is great! It fits a stroller really easily, and with the second row folding capability, there is even more room available. Nothing is power, but it’s the simple push down. For the size of the car, I’m really impressed.
2023 Nissan Rogue Wrap-Up
The 2023 Nissan Rogue is a solid 5-passenger option to consider if you’re interested in the subcompact category. While it’s not the smoothest drive or three car seat across friendly, I really love the space available and affordable price point.
