2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E
Today we have a pretty popular car tour on deck! The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is the latest electric SUV model in the Ford lineup. Being the most popular electric vehicle (behind the Tesla lineup) I’m so excited to walk you through all the details and see if it works well for families with three kids!
If you're new—welcome! I’m a car enthusiast, a mom, and a certified child passenger safety tech. By the end of this post, I want to help you understand all the features on the interior and exterior of the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E to see how it ranks with other 5 passenger SUVs on the market.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Exterior
Starting off with just the exterior, I honestly love it. Let me be clear, I'm not a Mustang person, but this car has a really cool sporty look. It looks a little different than every other manufacturer coming out with these futuristic vehicles, especially with the overall luxury of it.
Moving along to the side, I really like the two-tone Fender with the two-tone wheels and a lot of nice gloss black that comes around the windows. As for the door handles, they really irritate me. I can't stand why manufacturers always have to rethink door handles. What is wrong with your standard door handle? Nothing in my opinion.
Taking a look at her back end, it’s very cooped out with a nice little rear overhang. I think the tail lights are incredibly unique from what we typically see, which is the last final touch that knocked the exterior out of the park.
Ford Mustang Mach-E First Row Details
The first row of this car is so comfortable! As a taller driver, I really appreciated the height of the arm rests specifically, along with how nice the seats are themselves. The center console is really spacious with some good room for storage. Overall, I really enjoyed my driving experience.
Driver Seat Door Panel
The door panel is a very nice two-tone leather with some pretty contrast stitching and nice texture over the speakers. Then, we've got a nice long and deep side cup holder, it just doesn't fit my obnoxious cup. Just a random note: the door opens so wide and has another weird handle on the inside, but I'm so much less offended by this one.
Infotainment Center
The dash itself is not my favorite. For being only 10 inches, it feels tiny in comparison to the center console 15 inch display. The infotainment center comes with all the typical tech we know and love (Apple Carplay, Android Auto, etc…) but I don’t love the shape of it. To me, it feels quite iPad like, but it really comes down to personal preference.
Ford Mustang Mach-E Second Row Details
Now that we’ve moved onto the second row, let’s talk about the car seat set up. I really wanted to try to fit three car seats in this vehicle and drive it for as long as possible to truly put it to the test. I was able to find one combination out of my combo of car seats that fit: Graco Slim Fit 3LX installed forward-facing, a Clek Fllo installed rear-facing, and a Clek Foonf installed rear-facing.
There's probably other combinations that work, but a lot of combinations I tried did not work, including some booster and infant seats. I'm gonna put my stamp of approval on this combination, but just be aware if you're considering this car for three car seats across, you have to think through not just your current combination but how it will change in the future. what's my
As far as my second round amenities are concerned, we do have vents on the back of the center console as well as some charging capabilities. I also really love the panoramic roof that's found in this car. It goes so deep into the back seat and I think my kids are going to love all the natural light.
Ford Mustang Mach-E Trunk Details
All right, let's talk trunk space! I tested the Mach-E capabilities with the Zoe double twin stroller and it does fit, but doesn't have a ton of room left over. Overall, there's not a ton of depth of this truck and with this type of roof, there's also not a ton of height. So, it’s fine I’m not mad at it, but it's not the biggest trunk ever and I think certain car seat or certain stroller combinations could be more difficult.
2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E: Wrap Up
Overall, the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is a solid vehicle for families. It’s such a fun car to drive, both my kids and I had a blast riding in it. With a 300 mile range and a full charge in 10 hours, this is an electric vehicle ready for your daily commute. Although three car seats across are possible, there are not a ton of combinations available. I am really impressed with this Mustang, even if they’re not typically my favorite.
