2022 Chevy Silverado LT

I’m super excited to be reviewing a TRUCK for you guys! Keep in mind though… I’m not here to talk about towing and trim levels… this review is all about car seats, cupholders, and cubbies—so, let’s see how this truck works for a family!

Exterior

First things first… I love this blue color (shocking, I know). And honestly, this is just a great looking truck. There’s a lot of nice chrome and the hood lines are aggressive (in a good way). It’s beefy but super simple and sleek. This thing is also just BIG. The bed is great, as well, and I’m calling it now—trucks are going to become the next mom car. I mean… the “trunk” space. Why are we not putting a cover on these things and taking better advantage of them??

Interior

Front

Starting with the driver’s side door panel… three words. Cubby. Space. Galore. It’s super simple, but has some nice faux wood and the tiniest bit of chrome. But the main event here is the cupholder situation. There are two HUGE cupholders in the door and a third one that kinda works. Let’s go, Chevy!

The tech/displays are industrial and no nonsense, but this isn’t surprising for Chevy. To be honest, I hate all of their infotainment systems… but anyway. There’s no digital dash and a tiny screen. The buttons below the screen are huge, but at least that makes them user friendly. Below the buttons are a USB and USB-C, plus a 12 volt.

There’s a huge cubby on the passenger side, plus a really nice sized glove box. Between the seats in the center console are two tiny cupholders (the ones in the doors are honestly better). The storage in the console feels pretty small, but remember it’s also the back of the front middle seat that folds up. When you put the seat up, there’s another storage space under the seat itself.

Comfort-wise, I’d say the seats are pretty comfortable! And like I said, everything just feels big and spacious. There’s more than enough cabin space, and the hood and bed are large as well. It feels pretty similar to the full-sized Suburban.

Second Row

I’m mainly focused on the car seat situation here. You won’t be surprised by the set up—there are lower anchors on either outboard seat and tethers across the entire bench. (One thing to note is that installing a seat with the tethers in a truck is a little different, so make sure you look at your truck’s owners manual).

I installed two rear-facing infant seats and there is soooo much space. I fit super comfortably in between the car seats and am totally confident you could put a third seat in the middle. Trucks are really great for this, since they historically have super wise benches. \

There’s a USB and vents, but no cup holders except in the doors. And one other small (but important) note: there’s even a small head restraint in the middle seat!

Trunk/Bed

Like I said, truck beds are really a dream for moms. This 6 foot one could hold so much, AND would be a great spot for tailgating. Catch me here at one of my kids’ soccer games.

Alright, I think this is such a practical and functional vehicle for families. Honestly, trucks are a great option—they can tow and fit car seats. For families on the go, what else could you really ask for??
