2021 Kia Telluride EX Review

The Kia Telluride was released in the spring of 2019 as a 2020 model and honestly, no one has stopped talking about it since. It is unlike any SUV in Kia’s line up and it is setting a new standard for the modern day affordable SUV. I feel like I’m almost getting Range Rover vibes from it… I mean especially compared to some of the SUVs in its class like the Highlander or Traverse. At it’s most basic trim the 2021 Kia Telluride LX MSRPs for $32,190 and ranges up to $42,490 with the SX trim. However, due to high demand most dealers are selling the Telluride for over MSRP. I am hopeful this trend of selling over MSRP will die down in the coming years as more get on the road but for now, it you want the Telluride expect to pay anywhere from $3-10K over the manufacturer’s retail suggested price. For reference, in my tour I review the 2021 Kia Telluride EX, it’s MSRP is $37,590 but was sold for $43,330.

The Telluride comes in both bench and captain chairs options. However, the bench option is only available in the LX which is the lowest trim. For a 7-passenger Telluride you will have 4 tether anchors (two in second row and two in third) and 3 lower anchors (two in second row and one in third row). If you opt in for the bench seat you will gain a tether anchor in the second row.

I am personally a big fan of the Telluride. Between it’s luxurious looking exterior, reliability ratings and impressive technology I think this car is a great option for big/growing families. Usually in the first few years of a new model release there are a few kinks that need to be worked out but I really think Kia crushed it on the first few tries. I am really looking forward to seeing where Kia takes this car and what improvements come out in the coming years.
