Fourth of July Family Car Deals for 2024
Fourth of July weekend is right around the corner, but what are the best family car deals available right now? Let’s talk about it.
We are in the season of holiday car shopping deals. Memorial Day came (with some pretty great deals), so I had a lot of expectations when it came to the Fourth of July savings events.
I’ll be honest, the deals I’m seeing are not as widespread as what we saw a few months ago for Memorial Day (linking that post here if you want to compare deals!). That being said, I still wanted to share what manufacturers are advertising and how you can negotiate the deal you’re looking for. One of my favorite cars is on sale right now. In fact, it was my first ever mom car, and I highly recommend it!
So without further introduction, let’s dive into the Fourth of July family car deals for 2024. And a special thanks to Car Edge for compiling this list of deals!
Is 4th of July Weekend A Good Time To Buy A Car?
It can be! While incentives seemed more widespread across manufacturers over Labor Day, I'm excited about a few of the deals on the list for this weekend. It’s not typical for manufacturers to run the same incentives repeatedly, so this is to be expected. That doesn’t mean there are no deals to be found this weekend. Instead, we’ve got a new fleet of cars.
If you have a specific car in mind and there isn't a manufacturer deal running, take my course - How to Save at the Dealership - and talk to a salesperson about what they can do for you. This will help you take home the car that will actually serve your family best. You will need to rely on dealership incentives rather than nationwide manufacturer deals.
As for the manufacturer deals we are seeing, almost all of them are offering 0% APR financing for a select period. But what does this actually mean?
What is APR?
APR stands for annual percentage rate, which for cars specifically is a combination of your loan’s interest rate and any additional fees that are associated with the loan. The APR percentage indicates how much the total yearly cost is for you to borrow money for your car.
This is a deal we will see frequently in not just Fourth of July sales, but almost all holiday sales, so it’s important to know what you’re actually getting.
How Can I Get A Better Understanding of The Final Cost I Will Pay?
Before you step foot into the dealership, it’s important to feel confident about the loan or payment you will be taking out to drive your car home. This was one of the first things I wanted to help families be able to estimate because it really helps you take ownership of your car-buying experience.

Kelly, What If I’m Only Interested In The Used Car Market?
When it comes to shopping the used car market (which I HIGHLY recommend doing), you’re not going to see as many obvious deals for specific car models.
If you plan on shopping for used cars, do not be discouraged. You can 100% still negotiate a deal and leave the lot with a family car that’s right for you. There are just a few more steps to take before hitting the market on the Fourth of July.
First, you will need to narrow down your family car must-haves and vehicles that check the boxes you need. To give you a place to start, my post - Family Cars Under $400 a Month - gives a great baseline on how to shop the pre-owned market and my top recommendations for cars to look into.
Second, my car buying course - How To Save Money at the Dealership - will ensure you can negotiate the absolute best deal, whether it’s a holiday or not. Plus, I offer a 100% money-back guarantee if you don’t save AT LEAST the price of the course.
Lastly, don’t assume that deals are not available for the Fourth just because they aren’t publicized. Individual dealerships will be running their own incentives, so it’s all about having the patience to look and not be deterred if your first stop doesn’t have exactly what you’re looking for. Use the day to shop around and really take these cars for a test drive.
Is There Anything Else I Should Know Before Heading To The Dealership?
No matter if you’re trying to narrow down your family car options or are ready to sign on the dotted line, do a thorough test drive before taking any further steps.
What do I mean by a thorough test drive? This isn’t just you driving the car on both the side streets and the highway, but making sure this car can meet the needs of your specific lifestyle.
Do you have a car seat set up? Bring all the seats and do a complete installation. What about sports gear needing to fit when the third row is up? Throw it in the trunk to make sure it all fits correctly. Is a stroller a part of your everyday routine? You have to make sure it can fit correctly.
I promise salespeople have seen IT ALL when it comes to a test drive and are happy to let you use the car like you would at home. For me specifically, I’ve had people bring in golf clubs, a massage table, and even ask to drive the car home to see if it fits in the garage.
A thorough test drive is a part of the car buying process salespeople expect, so make sure you take all the time you need to see if the car will work for your family.

Will You Be Car Shopping This Weekend?
Fourth of July weekend is a great time to go out and test drive a family vehicle you’re interested in. Specifically, the Nissan Rogue deal catches my eye and I highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the market for an SUV of that size. It was a great first mom car for our family and the bonus cash is never something I’ll turn my nose up to.
While these deals are an incentive to finally purchase the car you’ve been debating on, do not let the idea of a good deal sway you into a car you have not completely decided on. These deals will not be exactly the same but will come around again with the next holiday.
